the day when she had no other choice. However, making your own juice has recently made a strong comeback and in this review we are going to be looking at the Black and Decker CJ625 juicer.
Tell me about the features?
The aim of the game here was to be as compact as possible whilst still helping you to get the best from your fruits. With that in mind Black and Decker made the 34 ounce citrus juicer. It has a uniquely designed reamer which squeezes every drop of juice by spinning clockwise, and then after lifting, anti-clockwise. The adjustable controls allow for customized amounts of pulp and you won’t have to worry about tidying up either.
The power cord has a section for its built in storage, and all the parts of the machine are dishwasher safe! An easy-pouring spout and measurement markings on the juicing container are small additional features that make a large difference.
I don’t know if I have room for it?
If you are worried that this piece of kit will be the same size as the juicers you’ve seen on the various TV cooking programmes then you will be happily surprised. This juicer is tiny at only 7.7 x 7.7 x 9.4 inches, so even if kitchen worktop space is at a premium, you’ll be able to fit in this little machine.
Black and Decker have managed to keep the apparatus’ weight to a minimum too, and it only weighs 2.4 pounds so you won’t even notice it’s there. It is the perfect size to take to, and then carry around the office should you want a refreshing glass of juice at work too!
So what exactly is good about this machine?
It is not trying to compete with the bigger machines so it uses its compact size well. Even though it is small you will still get a very good amount of juice from this juicer, and the fact that the manufacturers have managed to include a number of shrewd features within this tiny frame is impressive.
If there’s good there must be bad?
The fact that you are limited to citrus fruits means that some points have to be knocked off for this machine. Limiting it to a few fruits means that it falls out of the competitive range of many other machines which can do this and more. One complaint that customers have had about thee machine itself is its “self-reversing feature.” A few have claimed that it will automatically reverse the rotation of the juicer at the slightest touch, meaning that you may miss out on some vital healthy goodness!
So is it any good?
For what is designed to be; i.e. a very basic machine yes, it works very well. It is very much a case of “it does what it says on the tin” with this juicer, but if you are looking for a quick, easy, and convenient way to prepare your morning orange juice then you could do a lot worse than to look at the Black and Decker.
